Educational Problems in The Ottoman Empire: A Historical Case Study About Road Security (Traffic) and School Services

Öz

Specific researches on the educational problems in the Ottoman Empire period are limited. Many significant researches on the educational history of Ottoman Empire have generally focused on issues like educational system, educational grades, educational institutes and teacher training. However, to be able to understand better the educational history of the Ottoman Empire, it is necessary to examine other issues seemingly less significant but nevertheless important on its own right. The main purpose of the study is to highlight the problems of road security that the students have faced on the school way and the school services launched to overcome these problems during the Ottoman Empire period. The study has been conducted by referring to the original sources of the period.
