Teachers’ Opinion Regarding Scientific Researches and Researchers
Abstract
The aim of this research is to present the teachers’ opinion regarding scientific researches and researches.
Research is a quantitative study performed in scanning model. Population survey is 112 teachers working in
elementary school in Kırşehir Province Center. Data are collected by using a half-formed interview form that is
prepared by researchers. Obtained data are analyzed and evaluated by the researchers within the framework of
document-analysis method. Moreover, by means of calculating frequencies of the opinions, whether teachers'
opinions differentiate or not are analyzed by χ2 method with regard to education levels, sex and seniority. According
to the research results; (i) while a considerable part of the teachers sees themselves sufficient regarding the
implementation period of the scientific research (%33,8), a significant part, however, does not see it that way
(%34,8). (ii) A considerable part of the teachers believe that in a scientific research there are problems such as
participants creating difficulties in data collection and difficulty in reaching target group during data collection
(%38,4). The other considerable part of the teachers, on the other hand, believe that they have problems because the
answers given to data collection tools, are subjective, insincere, unserious (%29,5). (iii) A great part of the teachers
approaches scientific researches in a positive way and helps the researchers (%42), one third of them, however,
approaches it negatively (%27,7). (iv) A significant part of the teachers explain their unwillingness to help the researchers as that the researchers approach them negatively, the method followed while data analysis tolls are
applied, is not ethical and these demands are s weary often.
