Ergenlerin Öz-Şefkat ve Psikolojik Sağlamlık Düzeyleri Üzerinde Algılanan Helikopter Ebeveyn Tutumunun Etkisinin İncelenmesi

Öz

Bu araştırma ergenlerin öz-şefkat ve psikolojik sağlamlık düzeyleri üzerinde algılanan helikopter ebeveyn tutumunun aracı rolünü incelemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Araştırma, ilişkisel tarama modeli ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Veriler “Kişisel Bilgi Formu”, “Algılanan Helikopter Ebeveyn Tutumu Ölçeği”, “Kısa Psikolojik Sağlamlık Ölçeği” ve “Öz-Şefkat Ölçeği Kısa Formu” uygulanarak elde edilmiştir. Çalışma grubuna 445 ergen dahil edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde; ergenlerin öz-şefkat ve psikolojik sağlamlık düzeyleri üzerinde algılanan helikopter ebeveyn tutumunun, cinsiyetler arasında anlamlı bir farklılaşma olup olmadığını incelemek için t testi yapılmıştır. Anne ve babaların helikopter ebeveynlik tutumu düzeyleri, psikolojik sağlamlık ve öz şefkat düzeylerinde, demografik değişkenlere göre anlamlı bir farklılaşma olup olmadığını incelemek için tek yönlü ANOVA yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada elde edilen bulgulara göre; erkeklerde algılanan helikopter ebeveynlik düzeyi, psikolojik sağlamlık ve öz şefkat düzeyi kızlara göre anlamlı düzeyde daha yüksektir. Doğum sırası, çocukların annelerinden algılanan helikopter ebeveynlik düzeyini etkilemektedir. İlk doğan ve ikinci doğan çocuklar tarafından algılanan helikopter ebeveyn tutumu, sonra doğanlara göre anlamlı düzeyde daha yüksektir. İlkokul mezunu olan anne ve babaların çocuklarının psikolojik sağlamlık düzeyleri daha yüksektir. İlkokul mezunu olan babaların çocuklarının psikolojik sağlamlık düzeyleri, lise mezunu olan babaların çocuklarından anlamlı olarak daha yüksektir. Psikolojik sağlamlık ve öz-şefkat arasında orta düzeyde ve pozitif bir ilişki vardır. Çalışmadan elde edilen sonuçların ergenlerde psikolojik sağlamlık, öz-şefkat becerilerinin desteklenmesine ve helikopter ebeveyn tutumlarıyla ilişkili gelişimsel destek uygulamalarına yararı olacağı öngörülmektedir

Examining the Effect of Perceived Helicopter Parenting on Adolescents’ Self-Compassion and Psychological Resilience Levels

Öz

This study was conducted to examine the mediating role of perceived helicopter parenting on adolescents’ self-compassion and psychological resilience levels. The research was carried out using the relational survey model. Data were obtained through the administration of the “Personal Information Form,” the “Perceived Helicopter Parenting Scale,” the “Brief Psychological Resilience Scale,” and the “Self-Compassion Scale – Short Form.” The study group consisted of 445 adolescents. In the data analysis, an independent samples t-test was conducted to determine whether perceived helicopter parenting, self-compassion, and psychological resilience levels of adolescents differed significantly between genders. A one-way ANOVA was performed to examine whether mothers’ and fathers’ helicopter parenting levels, as well as adolescents’ psychological resilience and self-compassion levels, differed significantly according to demographic variables. According to the findings, males had significantly higher perceived helicopter parenting, psychological resilience, and self-compassion levels compared to females. Birth order affected the perceived helicopter parenting level from mothers; first-born and second-born children reported significantly higher perceived helicopter parenting compared to later-born children. The children of mothers and fathers who were primary school graduates had higher psychological resilience levels. The children of fathers who were primary school graduates had significantly higher psychological resilience levels compared to the children of fathers who were high school graduates. There was a moderate and positive relationship between psychological resilience and self-compassion. The results of this study are expected to contribute to supporting adolescents’ psychological resilience and self-compassion skills and to the development of interventions addressing helicopter parenting attitudes..
