Antropolojik Nedenleriyle Cam Engelleri Tanımak: Kadınların Yönetimdeki Eksik Temsiliyetinin Bilinmeyenleri

Öz

Dünya fiziksel anlamda olağan hızında dönmeye devam ederken, toplumsal olarak olağanüstü bir dönüşüm yaşıyor. İnsanoğlunun diğer canlılara bir şekilde üstünlük kurmasını sağlayan ortak hareket etmeye dayalı kültür de bu dönüşümün merkezinde yer alıyor. Her geçen gün kültürün bireylere dayattıklarına eleştiri, daha özgür, daha eşit bir dünya arayışı çerçevesinde değerlendirilebilecek yeni düşünceler ortaya çıkıyor. Yeni bir düşünce olmamakla birlikte bugün halen sıcaklığını koruyan feminist bakış açısı: olay-durum veya olgulara özünde cinsiyet eşitsizliğinin yarattığı gerçekleri arama teziyle eleştirel bir bakış açısı sunuyor. Feminist çerçeveden bakılınca bütün memelilerin varlıklarını devam etmelerinin bir gereği olarak cinsiyetli olmanın kadınlar aleyhine işlemesi ve erkeklere liderlik konumları için avantaj sağlaması üzerinde durulması gereken bir konudur. Liderliğe evrimsel bir bakış açısıyla bakıldığında dış tehditlerin yüksek olduğu ilkel topluluklarda otokratik-kas gücü yüksek-agresif kişilerin lider olarak seçildiği, dış tehditlerin zamanla azalıp grup içi dayanışmanın öne çıkmasıyla en zayıf olanında hakkını gözetecek daha demokratik kişilerin lider olarak tercih edildiği anlaşılmaktadır. Buradan hareketle kadın veya kadınsı özelliklerin öne çıkmasını gelişmişliğin bir göstergesi, medeniyetin bir ölçüsü olarak kabul etmek yanlış olmayacaktır. Türkiye Cumhuriyeti’nin 100. yılına girildiği ve gelecek 100 yılların konuşulduğu bu günlerde toplumsal yaşamın hemen bütün boyutlarında cinsiyet eşitliği üzerine düşünmek yerinde olacaktır.

Recognizing Glass Barriers for Anthropological Reasons: The Unknowns of Women's Underrepresentation in Management

Öz

While the world continues to spin at its usual speed physically, it is undergoing an extraordinary social transformation. The culture based on joint action, which enables human beings to somehow establish superiority over other living things, is also at the center of this transformation. Every day, new ideas emerge that can be evaluated within the framework of criticism of what culture imposes on individuals and the search for a freer and more equal world. Although it is not a new idea, the feminist point of view still maintains its warmth: it offers a critical point of view with the thesis of seeking the facts created by gender inequality in essence. From a feminist perspective, it is an issue that should be emphasized that as a requirement for the survival of all mammals, being gendered works against women and gives men an advantage for leadership positions. When leadership is viewed from an evolutionary point of view, it is understood that in primitive communities where external threats are high, autocratic-high-muscle-aggressive people are chosen as leaders, and as the external threats decrease over time and in-group solidarity comes to the fore, more democratic people who will protect their rights are preferred as leaders in the weakest. From this point of view, it would not be wrong to accept the prominence of female or feminine features as an indicator of development and a measure of civilization. It would be appropriate to think about gender equality in almost all dimensions of social life these days when the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey is entered and the next 100 years are being talked about.
