Amaç: Son zamanlarda ABO kan grubu antijenleri ile belirli tipte
insan kanserleri arasındaki ilişki, özellikle pankreas ve mide kanserine
yakalanma riski, araştırmaya olan ilgiyi giderek artmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı,
hastanemizde meme kanseri nedeniyle ameliyat yapılan 209 hastanın A, B, O ve Rh
kan grupları ile meme kanseri arasındaki ilişkiyi araştırmaktır.

Materyal ve Metot: 01 Ocak 2007 ile 31 Aralık 2012
tarihleri arasında Meme kanseri nedeniyle ameliyat edilen 209 hastanın
dosyaları geriye dönük olarak incelendi. Hastaların yaşı, ABO ve Rh kan gurubu,
ameliyat şekli ve klinik verileri hastane bilgi sistemi arşiv kayıtlarından
elde edildi. Histopatolojik olarak, tümör çapı, tümör tipi, tümörün grade’i,
lenf nodu metastazı varlığı, östrojen reseptörü (ER), progesteron reseptörü
(PR), HER2 durumu kaydedildi.

A kan grubunda östrojen reseptörü pozitifliği diğer kan
gruplarına göre anlamlı olarak yüksek bulunmuştur (p=0,049).

Sonuç: A kan grubundan olan kişilerde meme
kanseri daha fazla görülmekle birlikte, diğer gruplara göre A kan grubunda ER
pozitifliği yüksektir. 0 kan grubunda ise ER pozitifliği düşüktür. Rh(+)
hastalarda invaziv meme kanseri ve lenf nodu metastazı daha yaygındır.

Objectives: Recently, the relationship between
ABO blood group antigens and certain types of human cancers, especially the
risk of developing pancreatic and gastric cancer, increases interest in
research. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between the
A, B, O and Rh blood groups and breast cancer in 209 patients who were operated
for breast cancer in our hospital.

Materials and
Methods:
The records of 209 patients who were operated for
breast cancer between January 1, 2007 and December 31, 2012 were analyzed
retrospectively. The age of the patients, ABO and Rh blood group, type of
operation and clinical data were obtained from hospital information system
archive records. Histopathologically, tumor size, tumor type, tumor grade,
presence of lymph node metastasis, estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone
receptor (PR), HER2 status were recorded.

Results: The mean age
of the patients was 57.22 years. In Rh (+) patients, invasive carcinomas and
lymph node metastasis were higher than Rh (-) patients (Respectively p = 0.008, p = 0.043). Estrogen receptor positivity was significantly higher
in A blood group compared to other blood groups (p = 0.049).

Conclusion: Although
breast cancer is more common in people with A blood group, ER positivity is
higher in A blood group compared to other groups. In the blood group O, ER
positivity is low. Invasive breast cancer and lymph node metastasis are more
common in Rh (+) patients
