The personality of individuals distinguishes them from others in all aspects and encompasses the innate and lifelong process of a person. It also allows us to qualify it as the fundamental element of all actions we take, forming the basis of our behaviors. Personality, which affects the entire life of individuals, is expected to have the same effect on athletes as well. The purpose of this research is to examine the effects of neurotic personality on aggression and depression in athletes. Data collected from 288 active sports participants (96 female, 192 male) were analyzed using the SPSS package program (t-test, ANOVA, Post-Hoc, and regression analysis). In this context, according to the research results, it was concluded that the neurotic personality scores and aggression scores of athletes were similar in terms of gender, sports branches, the situation of receiving psychological help, and the level of sports participation. It was observed that male athletes, team sport participants, and licensed athletes scored higher on depression levels. On the other hand, a positive and low-level relationship was found between neurotic personality and aggression, a negative and moderate-level relationship was found between neurotic personality and depression levels, and a negative and low-level relationship was found between aggression and depression levels. Ethics committee approval was received by the "Atatürk University Rectorate, Faculty of Sports Sciences Dean's Office" with the decision numbered E-70400699-000-2400036256 dated 30.01.2024.
