Cumhuriyet Döneminde Fertlerin Konaklama Tesislerindeki Gecelemelerinin Değerlendirilmesi

Öz

Ülkemizin üyesi olduğu uluslararası örgütlerin standartları çerçevesinde, sistematik turizm istatistikleri sağlama süreci 1970’li yıllara dayanmaktadır. Turizm istatistikleri Kültür ve Turizm Bakanlığı (KTB) tarafından toplanırken, bireylerin seyahatlerinde tercih ettiği istatistiklerin sağlanması görevini Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu (TUİK) üstlenmiştir. Bu çalışmanın amacı TUİK ve KTB’nin yayınladığı ikincil veriler üzerinden, bireylerin tercih ettikleri konaklama tesislerindeki gecelemelerini değerlendirmektir. KTB istatistikleri ile yapılan analizlere göre fertlerin konaklama tesislerinde gerçekleştirdikleri geceleme süreleri artarken, TUİK’in istatistiklerine göre fertlerin geceleme süreleri azalmaktadır. Çalışmada KTB ve TUİK istatistiklerinin bir birleriyle çeliştiğini ortaya koymaktadır.

Evaluation of Individuals' Length of Stays in Accommodation Facilities for the Last Decades

Abstract

The process of providing systematic tourism statistics, within the framework of the standards of the international organizations of which our country is a member, dates back to the 1970s. While tourism statistics are collected by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism (KTB), individuals’ preferences about travels are provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK). The aim of this study is to evaluate the overnight stays of individuals in their preferred accommodation facilities, based on secondary data published by TUIK and KTB. According to KTB statistics, the length of overnight stays of individuals in accommodation facilities increases, while according to TUIK's statistics, the length of overnight stays of individuals in accommodation facilities decreases. It has been observed that KTB and TUIK statistics contradict each other in this study.
