Abstract
Changes in economic, technological, social and political fields result in changing and transformation of believes, values, institutions and rules. The change sand transformations experienced in the globalization process where the time shortens and the space narrows, seriously affect along many things also the nation states which are one of the main actors of international system. Globalization process brings together a great amount of change and transformation in content and application of the right of sovereignty. The functions of the nation states diminish, and the affect area of the nation states narrow, and the right to sovereignty is eroded because of in the one hand supranational political and economic structures which are also important agents of the international system, and in the other, because of share of central Powers with local government and civil structures. The non-governmental organizations (NGOs) which desire to increase their effects on international area come forward as one of the actors which affect ∗ Yrd. Doç. The effects of NGOs on nation states differ from of international political structures and multinational corporations, because of some of their characteristics. In this study it is examined the effects of NGOs on the nation states’ ideas, structures and functioning which differ from effects of other political and economic structures. The research is handled from the thought that characteristics of NGO’s are very effective on nation state. However at the same time their same characteristics are defective.
