Öz

Bu makale, Mathesius'un dilbilimde her şeyden önce gerçek cümleler kurma teorisinin yazarı olarak tanındığını ortaya koymaktadır. Ancak yazarın dilsel mirası bununla sınırlı değildir. Çek dilbilimci, ana içeriği metodolojik olarak işlevsel dilbilgisi ile bağlantılı olan ve bugüne kadar ilgisini kaybetmeyen derin ve saygın bir dilbilim kavramını miras aldı. Mathesius, belirli bir içeriği ifade etmek için dilbilimsel araçlar arayan muhatabın – bu durumu konuşma göndericisinin gereksinimlerinden kaynaklanan işlevsel dilbilgisi olarak adlandırdı. Konuşmacının (veya yazarın) ilettiği içeriği anlamaya çalışan muhatabın gereksinimlerinden doğan gramer, anlamsal veya işlevsel olarak alıcı olarak temsil edilebilir. Seçkin dilbilimci, 1920'lerin ilk yarısında dilbilimdeki işlevsel yöntemin tarihsel ve bilimsel kaynaklarını amaçlı bir şekilde araştırmaya başladı. İşlevsel gramer anlayışı yıldan yıla artmasına rağmen, ilk fikirleri merkezi kalıyor ve derinleşiyor.

The place and role of W. Mathesius in the Prague Functional School

Öz

This article shows that Mathesius is recognised in linguistics first and foremost as the author of the theory of constructing real sentences. However, the author's linguistic legacy is not limited to this. The Czech linguist inherited a deep and respected concept of linguistics, the main content of which is methodologically connected with functional grammar and has not lost its relevance to this day. Mathesius called it functional grammar, which arises from the requirements of the addressee - the speech sender - who seeks linguistic means to express a certain content. Grammar arising from the requirements of the addressee who seeks to understand the content conveyed by the speaker (or writer) can be represented semantically or functionally as receptive. In the first half of the 1920s, the eminent linguist began to purposefully investigate the historical and scientific sources of the functional method in linguistics. Although his understanding of functional grammar increases year by year, his initial ideas remain central and deepen.
