Memoirs of a Vagrant Soul by Mikhail Naimy, with its artistic characteristics, literaryphilosophical
ideas and social nature, has a special place among the creative works of the author.
There are many ideas in the book which are in sync with the Sufi philosophical teachings,
Christianity and the works of a prominent Russian writer, Leo Tolstoy. The book, thanks to its
complex features and the plot, has drawn researchers to Naimy’s works which are very original
and unique. Many ideas in this book are also compatible with the ideas in the author’s other wellknown
books such as The Book of Mirdad and Khalil Gibran. The literary-philosophical matters
such as the ephemeral world, divine love, humility, solitude, renunciation have been expressed
through the protagonist Arqash in the book. The major ideas and their sources are examined in
this research dedicated to Memoirs of a Vagrant Soul by Mikhail Naimy.

Mürəkkəb xarakteri və süjeti əsərin tədqiqatçılar tərəfindən Nuaymə yaradıcılığına məxsus orijinal və fərqli keyfiyyətlər baxımından dəyərləndirilməsinə səbəb olmuşdur. Geniş dünyagörüşü və zəngin qaynaqlara malik ərəb yazıçısının əsəri digər məşhur Mirdadın kitabı, Cibran Xəlil Cibran əsərləri ilə də ideya birliyinə malikdir. Əsərdə dünyanın faniliyi, ilahi eşq, fəqr məqamı, tənhalıq, tərkidünyalıq kimi ədəbi-fəlsəfi məsələlər Ərqaşın obrazı vasitəsilə ifadə olunmuşdur. Araşdırmada Ərqəşin xatirələri əsərində Mixail Nuaymənin təqdim etdiyi əsas fikirlər və əsərin ideya mənbələri öyrənilir.
