Mindful Eating

Yıl 2022, Cilt: 6 Sayı: 1, 91 - 106, 16.01.2022

Öz

Mindfulness is the capacity to bring full attention and awareness to one's experience in the moment without judgment. Mindful eating brings attention to food choice and the eating experience. Mindful eating helps us become aware of our thoughts, feelings, and physical feelings about eating and reconnects us with our inner wisdom about hunger and fullness. Mindfulness is a term embedded in our everyday language, but its meaning is deeper than how we use it in our driven, multitasking, social structure. The term has become popular because it promotes mindful awareness, regardless of focus, and has become a way of encouraging one to take care of oneself. Mindfulness practice has helped thousands of people live more consciously and develop the skills necessary to manage chronic pain, illness, depression, sleep problems and anxiety. It has also become the focus of an approach to eating that meets the necessary criteria to change one's overall approach to eating. In the study, a health relationship was established by examining mindful eating.
