Sınıf Rehber Öğretmenlerinin ve 8. Sınıf Öğrencilerinin Rehberlik ve Kariyer Planlama Dersine İlişkin Görüşlerinin İncelenmesi

Öz

Bu çalışmanın amacı sınıf rehber öğretmenlerinin ve 8. sınıf öğrencilerinin rehberlik ve kariyer planlama dersine ilişkin görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. İzmir ilinde bulunan yedi farklı ortaokuldan 21 sınıf rehber öğretmeni (13 kadın, 8 erkek) ve 47 sekizinci sınıf öğrencisi (23 kız, 24 erkek) çalışmada yer almıştır. Çalışma grubunun oluşturulmasında amaçlı örnekleme yöntemlerinden biri olan tipik durum örneklemesinde yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden durum çalışması kullanılmıştır. Veriler 2018 yılı haziran ve temmuz aylarında yarı yapılandırılmış görüşmeler aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Görüşmeler sonucunda elde edilen bulgular hem öğretmenler hem de öğrenciler için uygulama ve değerlendirme olmak iki kategorinin varlığına işaret etmektedir. Bu iki kategorinin altında yer alan temalarda her iki grup için büyük ölçüde benzerdir. Katılımcı öğretmenler ve öğrenciler dersin meslekleri tanıma, üst öğrenim kurumlar hakkında bilgi alma ve kişisel-sosyal sorunların çözümüne fayda sağlaması açısından önemli olduğunu vurgulamaktadır. Öğretmenlerin çoğu öğrencilerin derse yönelik ilgisizliğinden yakınırken buna karşın öğrenciler de sınıf rehber öğretmenlerinin dersi liselere geçiş sınavına hazırlık amacıyla kullanma eğiliminde olduklarına dikkat çekmektedir. Çalışmada elde edilen bulgular ilgili literatür ışığında tartışılmıştır.
