Bazı Ticari Limon Çeşitlerinin Farklı Çiçek Tipi Oranları ve Çiçek Tozu Özelliklerinin Belirlenmesi

Öz

Limonlarda olumsuz ekolojik koşullar ile yetersiz beslenme ve bakım koşullarında meyveye dönüşemeyen staminate (morfolojik dişi kısır) çiçek oluşumu sorunuyla sıkça karşılaşılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada ticari değeri olan Interdonato, Italyan memeli ve Kütdiken limon çeşitlerinde hermafrodit ve staminate çiçeklerin ağaç üzerinde yönlere göre dağılımının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Ayrıca, bu çiçeklerin çiçek tozu üretim miktarı, canlılık ve çimlenme düzeylerinin belirlenmesiyle staminate çiçeklerin de tozlanmada etkili olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda, staminate çiçeklerin hermafrodit çiçeklerden daha fazla sayıda oluştuğu belirlenmiştir. Hermafrodit çiçek oranı İnterdonato çeşidinde %38.4, İtalyan memeli’de %39.5 Kütdiken’de ise %49.8 düzeyinde olmuştur. Yönlere göre değerlendirildiğinde ise en yüksek hermafrodit çiçek oranının İnterdonato ve İtalyan memeli çeşitlerinde doğu, Kütdiken çeşidinde ise kuzey yönlerinde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Çiçek tozu canlılığı yönünden hermafrodit çiçeklerin staminate çiçeklerden biraz daha yüksek değerler gösterdiği ve canlılık oranlarının %10.24 ile %62.46 arasında değiştiği belirlenmiştir. Çiçek tozu çimlenme değerleri açısından ise Interdonato çeşidinde hermafrodit çiçekler (%11.22), İtalyan memeli ve Kütdiken çeşitlerinde ise staminate çiçekler (sırasıyla, %15.97 ve %15.11) daha iyi performans göstermiştir Çiçek tozu üretim miktarlarının da yine Interdonato çeşidi hariç olmak üzere staminate çiçeklerde hermafroditlerden daha fazla olduğu saptanmıştır. Ayrıca, çiçek tozu özellikleri açısından ağaç yönünün herhangi bir etkisi olmadığı belirlenmiştir. Sonuç olarak; staminate çiçeklerin meyve oluşturamamasına rağmen, her iki çiçek tipinden de tozlayıcı olarak yararlanılabileceği ortaya koyulmuştur.

Flower Sex Ratio and Pollen Properties of Some Commercial Lemon Cultivars Abstract

Öz

Lemon trees (Citrus lemon) often produce staminate flowers, that cannot set fruits, due to ecological conditions with inadequate nutrition and maintenance conditions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the ratio of perfect and staminate flower distribution on the trees of Interdonato, Italian Memeli and Kutdiken commercial lemon cultivars. In addititon to this, pollen viability, germination level and the amount of pollen production were studied for different flower types (perfect and male) and different sides (north, south, east and west) of the trees. In general, staminate flower ratios were found to be higher than perfect ones in all cultivars. The perfect flower ratio was 38.4% in Interdonato, 39.5% in Italian memeli and 49.8% in Kutdiken. In terms of sides, the highest perfect flower ratio was in eastern side of Interdonato and Italian memeli and in northern side of Kutdiken. Pollen viability levels were better in perfect flowers against staminate flowers and the viability ratios were differed between 10.24% and 62.46%. The pollen germination levels showed higher performance in perfect flowers of Interdonato (11.22%) and staminate flowers of Italian memeli and Kutdiken (15.97 and 15.11 respectively). Pollen production values were again better in perfect flowers except from Interdonato. Besides these, tree side do not have any effect on pollen properties. As a result, this study presented that both flower types can be used as pollenizer.
