The Relationship Between Conscientiousness and Competence Characteristics of Beekeepers and Their Life Satisfaction, Work Commitment and Job Performance

Öz

Abstract
This study aimed to examine the relationship between the conscientiousness personality trait, one of the five-factor personality dimension, and life satisfaction, work engagement and job performance through the competence dimension, which is considered one of the basic needs. The study was conducted with a sample of 236 (Mage = 40.72, SDage = 12.35) beekeepers. According to the results of the study, it was determined that there was a positive significant relationship between the conscientiousness personality dimension and competence. Additionally, it was determined that there was a positive significant relationship between the basic need for competence and work engagement, life satisfaction and performance perception. The hypotheses of the study were analyzed using the path analysis method and the jamovi statistical program. the conscientiousness personality dimension in beekeepers is related to work commitment (b = .61, SE = .05, z = 11.52, p < .001; CI [.50, .71]), life satisfaction (b = .44, SE = .05, z = 8.32, p < .001; CI [.34, .55]) and performance perception (b = .63, SE = .05, z = 12.03, p < .001; CI [.53, .74]) was significant through competence. In other words, it has been observed that beekeepers feel competent in their jobs due to the conscientiousness personality trait, and this leads to an increase in their commitment to work, life satisfaction and perception of performance at work.

Arıcıların Sorumluluk ve Yetkinlik Özellikleri ile Yaşam Doyumu, İşe Bağlılıkları ve İş Performansları Arasındaki İlişkisi

Öz
Bu çalışma beş faktör bir kişilik boyutundan biri olan sorumluluk kişilik özelliğinin, temel ihtiyaçlardan biri kabul edilen yetkinlik boyutu aracılığıyla yaşam doyumu, işe bağlılık ve iş performansı arasındaki ilişkiyi incelemeyi amaçlamıştır. Çalışma aracılık mesleği ile uğraşan 236 (Ortyaş = 40.72, SSyaş = 12.35) kişilik bir örneklem ile yapılmıştır. Çalışmanın sonuçlarına göre, sorumluluk kişilik boyutu ile yetkinlik arasında pozitif anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca yetkinlik temel ihtiyacı ile işe bağlılık, yaşam doyumu ve performans algısı arasında da pozitif anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir. Çalışmanın hipotezleri yol analizi (path analysis) metodu ile jamovi istatistik programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Arıcılarda sorumluluk kişilik boyutunun, yetkinlik temel ihtiyacı aracılığında, işe bağlılık (b = .61, SE = .05, z = 11.52, p < .001; CI [.50, .71]), yaşam doyumu (b = .44, SE = .05, z = 8.32, p < .001; CI [.34, .55]) ve performans algısı (b = .63, SE = .05, z = 12.03, p < .001; CI [.53, .74]) üzerindeki dolaylı etkisi anlamlı çıkmıştır. Yani arıcıların sorumluluk kişilik özelliğine bağlı olarak işlerinde yetkin hissettikleri ve bunun da onların işe bağlılıklarına, yaşam doyumlarına ve işteki performans algılarında artışa yol açtığı görülmüştür.
