İnşaat Firmalarının Kurumsal Çevrelerine Stratejik Tepkileri

Öz

İnşaat sektöründe firmalar teknik çevrelerinde olduğu gibi kurumsal çevrelerinde de faaliyet göstermektedir. Yapım yönetim literatüründe, önceki çalışmalarda ağırlıklı olarak teknik çevre özellikleri ve firmaların teknik çevrelerine karşı verdiği stratejik tepkileri konusuna odaklanılmış, inşaat firmalarının kurumsal çevresinin özellikleri ve kurumsal çevrelerine stratejik tepkileri konusu somut olarak ortaya konulmamıştır. Bu çalışmada inşaat sektöründe kurumsal çevresi ve kurumsal çevre baskısına karşı inşaat firmalarının izlemiş olduğu stratejik tepkiler örnek olay yöntemiyle ele alınarak literatürdeki boşluk doldurulmaya çalışılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları, inşaat firmalarının verdiği stratejik tepkilerinin pasiften aktife doğru sıralandığını ve aynı olayda birden fazla stratejinin uygulanabildiğini göstermiştir

Strategic Responses of the Construction Firms to their Institutional Environment

Öz

Construction firms operate not only in a technical environment but also and an institutional environment. A brief review of the construction management literature points out that previous research studies predominantly focus characteristics of the technical environment in which construction firms operate and strategic responses of the construction firms to their technical environment. Yet characteristics of institutional environment and strategic responses of the construction firms to their institutional environment remain unexplored research areas in the construction management literature. The research presented in paper explores strategic responses of the construction firms to their institutional environment by using case study approach. The research findings reveal that strategic responses of construction firms range from a passive response to an active response
