An Investigation of the Relationship Between School Principals' Leadership Behaviours and Knowledge Management

Öz

This study aims to determine the relationship between school principals' leadership behaviours and knowledge management realization levels according to teachers' views. The study was conducted within the scope of relational survey model. The population of the study consists of 5205 teachers working in state schools affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in Amasya city centre, districts and villages in 2022-2023 academic year. The sample consists of 628 teachers selected by simple random sampling method. The data were statistically analysed using SPSS 22.0 package programme. Arithmetic mean and standard deviation values were calculated during the analyses. According to the findings, it was observed that the higher the level of administrators' leadership behaviours, the higher the level of knowledge management practices. There was a strong and positive significant relationship between leadership styles and knowledge management. According to teachers' perceptions, school administrators fulfil both leadership behaviours and knowledge management processes at a high level.

Okul Yöneticilerinin Liderlik Davranışları ile Bilgi Yönetimi Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi

Öz

Bu araştırma, öğretmenlerin görüşlerine dayanarak okul yöneticilerinin liderlik davranışları ile bilgi yönetimi gerçekleştirme düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkiyi tespit etmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışma, ilişkisel tarama modeli kapsamında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın evrenini, 2022-2023 eğitim-öğretim yılında Amasya il merkezi, ilçeleri ve köylerinde Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı'na bağlı resmi okullarda görev yapan 5205 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Örneklem ise basit rastgele örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilen 628 öğretmenden oluşmaktadır. Veriler, SPSS 22.0 paket programı aracılığıyla istatistiksel olarak analiz edilmiştir. Analizler sırasında aritmetik ortalama ve standart sapma değerleri hesaplanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre, yöneticilerin liderlik davranışlarını sergileme düzeyleri arttıkça bilgi yönetimi gerçekleştirme düzeyleri de aynı oranda yükseldiği gözlemlenmiştir. Liderlik stilleri ile bilgi yönetimi arasında güçlü ve pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Öğretmenlerin algılarına göre, okul yöneticileri hem liderlik davranışlarını hem de bilgi yönetim süreçlerini yüksek düzeyde yerine getirmektedir.
