Present and Future of Computer, Programming and Digital Game Industries in Istanbul Region

Programming
and digital game industries have a crucial importance in terms of its potential
in both in Turkey and in the World. Educated young population in Turkey and
their intense usage of information and communication Technologies in the modern
education system supports the development of information technology based
industries. This research is important for the identification of dissemination
of software programs, which are effectively used in education, health services,
tourism, defense industry, automotive industry, textile, machinery sectors and
channeling the potential of the programming and digital game industries. It is
expected that identification of current stand of the programming industry in
İstanbul would encourage the investments to this sector. It would also widen
horizon for the investors with the data obtained in this research. Within this
framework, a survey is conducted in İstanbul to a selected sample of the firms
in the Industry and the data gathered with the survey is analyzed. With the
enlightenments of the results gathered by the study, the future of programming
and digital game industries is envisioned and this study is prepared.
