SAĞLIK HARCAMALARI İKTİSADİ BÜYÜME İLİŞKİSİ ÜZERİNE EKONOMETRİK BİR İNCELEME

Öz

Bu çalışmada kalkınmanın kaynaklarından maddi olmayan sermaye ile iktisadi büyüme ilişkisi incelenmiştir. Beşeri sermaye fiziksel sermayenin yanında kalkınmanın belirleyicilerinden biridir. Beşeri sermayenin birçok unsuru olmakla birlikte bu çalışmada sağlık göstergeleri ile ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişki araştırılmıştır. Türkiye verilerinin kullanıldığı ampirik analizde 1980-2005 yılları arasında sağlık harcamaları, doğuşta yaşam beklentisi ve GSMH serileri incelenmiştir. Analizden elde edilen sonuçlar ise şöyledir: Türkiye'de sağlık harcamalarından hasılaya doğru bir nedensellik ilişkisi mevcuttur. Ancak bu ilişki küçük ve negatif çıkmaktadır. Diğer taraftan doğuşta yaşam beklentisinden hasılaya doğru bir nedenselliğin varlığı tespit edilmiştir.

Sağlık Harcamaları İktisadi Büyüme İlişkisi Üzerine Ekonometrik Bir İnceleme

Öz

In this paper, the relationship between economic growth and non physical capital which is the sources of development is analyzed. Besides physical capital, human capital is one of the determinants of development. Although human capital has many other features, the relationship between health indicators and economic growth is analyzed in this paper. For the empirical analysis, health expenditure, life expectation at birth and GNP series of Turkey between the period 1980-2005 are used. The outcomes of the analysis show that there is a linear causality between health expenditure and GNP in Turkey. Yet, the causality is small and negative. In the other side, there is also a linear causality to GNP than life expectancy at birth.
