Öz

Technological developments, which have gained a great speed in our age, bring many negative aspects as well as positives. While humanity is benefiting from the benefactions of technology, it also finds itself in the lap of growing problems caused by the use of technology. One of the most important of these problems is that the internet environment, which has the ability to spread very quickly beyond all borders, threatens the security of personal data.
The borderless feature of the Internet, when combined with the security vulnerabilities in this environment, can seriously violate the privacy of private life. The fact that smart devices are connected to each other in the internet environment and exchange data takes this one step further. Smart watches are one of the smart devices in question and have wearable feature. Due to this feature and usage purposes, it processes special categories of personal data about the user intensively. At the same time, smart watches, which enter the insecure environment of the internet by connecting to smart phones, should be specially examined in terms of the security of personal data, with all the opportunities they provide.

Akıllı Saatler ve Kişisel Veriler

Öz

Çağımızda büyük bir hız kaydeden teknolojik gelişmeler, olumlu yönlerinin yanında birçok olumsuzluğu da beraberinde getirmektedir. İnsanlık, teknolojinin nimetlerinden yararlanırken bir yandan da kendisini teknolojinin kullanımından kaynaklı çığ gibi büyüyen sorunların kucağında bulmaktadır. Bu sorunların en önemlilerinden biri, bütün sınırları aşarak çok hızlı bir şekilde yayılma özelliği bulunan internet ortamının, kişisel verilerin güvenliğini tehdit eder hale gelmesidir.
İnternetin sınır tanımayan özelliği, bu ortamdaki güvenlik açıklarıyla bir araya geldiğinde özel hayatın gizliliğini ciddi manada ihlal edebilmektedir. Akıllı cihazların internet ortamında birbirine bağlanarak veri alışverişinde bulunması bunu bir adım daha öteye taşımaktadır. Akıllı saatler de söz konusu akıllı cihazlardan biri olup giyilebilir özelliğe sahiptir. Bu özelliği ve kullanım amaçları itibariyle kullanıcıyla ilgili özel nitelikli kişisel verileri yoğun olarak işlemektedir. Aynı zamanda akıllı telefonlara bağlanarak internetin güvensiz ortamına giren akıllı saatlerin, sağladığı tüm imkanlarla birlikte kişisel verilerin güvenliği açısından özel olarak incelenmesi gerekmektedir.
