Investigations on the effectiveness of some fungicides against gray mold (<em>Botrytis cinerea</em> Pers.) isolates isolated from grapes.
Abstract
Botrytis cinerea is especially known as the fungal cause of bunch rot of grapes and can lead to high economic losses. Different fungicides have been used to control the disease. In this study, the effectiveness of some fungicides against Botrytis cinerea isolates that collected from the vineyards in İzmir, Manisa and Bursa in 1994-1996 on grapes have been determined under laboratory conditions. Chemical control of gray mold was tested on the grape berries. The fungicides sprayed were procymidone (Sumisclex 50), iprodione (Rovral 50 WP), imazalil (Magnate 50 EC), carbendazim (Derosal 50 WP), myclobutanil (Systhane 12 E). The grape berries were amended with three different concentrations of fungicides. The suspensions of conidia of B.cinerea containing 5x105 conidia/ml were applied to the surface of each berry after the berries dried and incubated at 21°C for 7 days. Evaluation was done weekly. Fungicides were effective on grape except carbendazim.
