Preterm Bebeklerde Terapotik Dokunma: Yakson ve Nazik İnsan Dokunuşu

Öz

Dünya’da son on yılda 152 milyon bebeğin erken doğduğu bildirilmektedir. Bu bebekler beyin gelişimleri için en uygun olan ortam olan intrauterin ortamdan erken ayrılarak, tedavi ve bakımlarının gerçekleştirildiği yenidoğan yoğun bakım ünitesinde (YYBÜ) birçok çevresel ve ağrılı uyaranlara maruz kalmaktadırlar. Bu uyaranlar, bebeklerde ağrı ve strese neden olarak daha fazla enerji harcamalarına neden olmakta, büyüme-gelişmelerini ve nörogelişimsel süreçlerini de olumsuz etkilemektedir. Bu olumsuz etkileri en aza indirmede terapötik dokunma yöntemleri büyük öneme sahiptir. Bu yöntemlerden Yakson ve Nazik İnsan Dokunuşu (Gentle Human Touch) bebeklerin maruz kaldıkları stres ve ağrıyı azaltarak büyüme-gelişmelerini olumlu yönde etkilemektedir. Büyüme ve gelişmeleri desteklenen bebekler hastaneden daha erken taburcu olabilmekte ve anne-bebek bağlanması daha kısa sürede gerçekleşmektedir. Bu derlemede Yakson ve Nazik İnsan Dokunuşu yöntemlerinin nasıl uygulandığı, prematüre bebekler için faydalarının neler olduğu güncel literatür doğrultusunda sunulmuştur. Bu kapsamda yenidoğan hemşirelerinin terapötik dokunma yöntemlerine yönelik bilgi ve farkındalık düzeylerini artırmak, bu dokunma yöntemlerini bakım uygulamaları sırasında kullanmalarını sağlamak amaçlanmıştır.

Therapeutic Touch in Preterm Infants: Yakson and Gentle Human Touch

Öz

It is reported that 152 million infants have been born prematurely in the world in the last decade. These infants are exposed to many environmental and painful stimuli in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) where they are treated and cared for by leaving the intrauterine environment, which is the most suitable environment for their brain development, early. These stimuli cause pain and stress in infants, causing them to expend more energy. This situation negatively affects the growth-development and neurodevelopmental processes of infants. Therapeutic touch methods are of great importance in minimizing these negative effects. Among these methods, Yakson and Gentle Human Touch positively affect the growth and development of infants by reducing the stress and pain they are exposed to. Infants whose growth and development are supported can be discharged from the hospital earlier and mother-infant bonding is realized in a shorter time. In this review, how Yakson and Gentle Human Touch methods are applied and what their benefits are for premature infants are presented in line with the current literature. In this context, it is aimed to increase the level of knowledge and awareness of neonatal nurses about therapeutic touch methods and to enable them to use these touch methods during care practices.
