ÖĞRENCİLERİN PERSPEKTİFİNDEN OLİMPİYAT OYUNLARI: PARİS 2024 ÖRNEĞİ

Öz

Bu çalışma, 2024 Paris Olimpiyat Oyunları özelinde Olimpiyatların spor ekosistemi ve sosyo-kültürel etkilerini derinlemesine incelemeyi amaçlayan nitel bir araştırmadır. Çalışmada, toplumsal veya bireysel olayları derinlemesine analiz etme imkânı sunan nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden "durum çalışması" deseni benimsenmiştir. Araştırmanın katılımcı grubunu, Ankara Üniversitesi Spor Bilimleri Fakültesi Spor Yöneticiliği 3. sınıf lisans öğrencilerinden oluşan, yaş aralığı 19-22 olan 4'ü kız, 6'sı erkek toplam 10 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Bu öğrencilerin aktif spor hayatlarına devam etmeleri, Olimpiyatlar hakkındaki gözlemlerini ve aldıkları eğitim kapsamındaki düşüncelerini zenginleştirmelerine olanak tanımıştır. Veriler, yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu aracılığıyla bireysel görüşmeler yoluyla toplanmış, ses kayıt cihazı ile kayıt altına alınmış ve veri doygunluğuna ulaşılana kadar süreç devam etmiştir. Elde edilen veriler içerik analizi yöntemiyle kodlanmış, kategorize edilmiş ve "Olimpiyat Oyunlarının Spor Ekosistemi Üzerine Etkisi" ile "Olimpiyat Oyunlarının Sosyo-Kültürel Etkisi" olmak üzere iki ana temada toplam 16 kod özetlenmiştir. Araştırmanın inandırıcılık, aktarılabilirlik, güvenilirlik ve doğrulanabilirlik kriterleri titizlikle sağlanmıştır. Bulgular, Olimpiyatların sporun birleştirici gücü, uluslararası ilişkilerdeki rolü, kültürel etkileşim platformu oluşu, barış ve dostluk mesajlarının yayılması, sporun evrensel bir dil ve yumuşak güç unsuru olarak işlevi gibi yönlerini vurgulamaktadır. Ayrıca, ev sahibi ülkeler için ekonomik kalkınma ve turizm fırsatları sunarken, toplumsal cinsiyet eşitliği ve kültürler arası etkileşim gibi konularda farkındalık yaratma potansiyeli taşıdığı tespit edilmiştir

Olympıc Games From Students' Perspectıve: The Paris 2024 Example

Öz

This study is a qualitative research aiming to deeply examine the multi-dimensional impacts of the Olympic Games on the sports ecosystem and their socio-cultural effects, specifically focusing on the 2024 Paris Olympics. Adopting a "case study" design, a prominent qualitative research method that allows for in-depth analysis of societal or individual phenomena, the research group consisted of 10 undergraduate students 4 female, 6 male; aged 19-22 from Ankara University Faculty of Sport Sciences, Department of Sport Management, 3rd year. Their continued active participation in sports enriched their observations and perspectives regarding the Olympics, informed by their educational background. Data were collected through individual semi-structured interviews, audio-recorded, and continued until data saturation was achieved. The obtained data were analyzed using content analysis, involving coding, categorization, and the formation of two main themes: "Impact of Olympic Games on Sports Ecosystem" and "Socio-Cultural Impact of Olympic Games"comprising a total of 16 codes. The study rigorously ensured credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. Findings highlight the Olympics' role as a unifying force in sports, its strategic place in international relations, its function as a platform for cultural exchange, and its promotion of messages of peace and friendship, demonstrating sport's universal language and its effective use as a "soft power" element. Furthermore, the study identifies the potential for economic development and tourism opportunities for host countries, alongside its capacity to raise awareness on issues such as gender equality and cross-cultural interaction.
