Abstract

To examine the relationship between nursing students' attitudes towards brain drain in Turkey and their perceptions of safety and trust against violence in healthcare. In the descriptive correlational study, data were collected with 400 nursing students between February and June 2023. Data were collected through Student Information Form, Nursing Students' Attitude Scale Towards Brain Drain, Health Workers' Safety and Confidence Against Violence Scale, and Health Workers' Safety and Confidence Against Violence Scale and google survey. 68.8% of the students reported that they were not satisfied with the health policies implemented in our country, and 90.8% reported that they were worried about their professional lives due to the violence against healthcare personnel. It was determined that students' migration tendencies were mostly affected by external factors and those who were dissatisfied with health policies had a higher migration tendency. The mean scores of students who were dissatisfied with health policies and concerned about the violence applied were lower. No significant relationship was found between students' brain drain attitudes and their perception of trust. It is recommended to increase research by taking into account the factors that may affect students' migration tendencies and to make arrangements in health manpower.
