The Effect of Modeling and Computer Aided Teachıng On Astronomy on Some Learning Products of 7th Class Learners *

Abstract

Abstract. The main purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of modeling technique and computer aided guidance material on students' academic achievements, creative thinking and logical thinking skills in Astronomy concepts in the ‘‘Solar System and Beyond’’ unit in the 7th grade Science curriculum. This study, which was carried out with a total of 66 7th grade secondary school students, one of whom was an experimental and one of the control of a public school in Altınordu, Ordu, was carried out with a quasi-structured research design which is one of the experimental research methods. In this study carried out in the fall semester of 2018-2019 academic year, in the experimental group, models based on the computer-aided material and modeling technique developed by the researcher for unit concepts were used during the courses, while in the control group only teaching based on the current curriculum was used. In this studyAs a result of the study, it was determined that the Academic Achievement, Scientific Creativity and Logical Thinking Skills of the experimental group students who applied Modeling and Computer Assisted Instruction were significantly higher than the students in the control group. .
