Öz

“Savunma Zenginlikten Önemlidir” Adam Smith (Ulusların Zenginliği) Bu çalışmada savunma harcamaları ile OECD üyesi ülkeler için ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişkinin yönü 1991 – 2008 yılları arası için panel veri yöntemi kullanılarak test edilmeye çalışılıştır. Uygulama sonuçları açısından savunma harcamalarının ekonomik büyüme üzerinde negatif etkisi olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Çalışmanın uygulama bölümünde ilk olarak birim kök analizi yapılmış, bunu takiben panel kointegrasyon analizi yapılmıştır. Son olarak nihai modele bağımsız değişkenin bir gecikmesi eklenerek model otokorelasyondan arındırılmaya çalışılmıştır
