ISO 14001 Environmental Management System and The Application to The Copper Sector

Harmful effects on the natural resources may increase as a result of a permanent increase of human needs, production and consumption habits. So the increase of environmental problems affects society. As the environment and the society are considered as a whole, especially during the manufacturing process, production should be cared so as to leave the least impact on the environment. The value for the environment is increasing day by day. In a globalized world, it isn’t enough for customers to produce only the best goods and to offer cheap goods and services. Firms overcome their deficiencies by the application of Environmental Management Systems (EMS). The main goal is to make all living things and plants live healthily, to leave the future generations a clean and livable environment, to protect natural resources and to provide economic development. This study presents firstly Environmental Management and Environmental Management Systems (EMS). The certification process of ISO 14001 EMS is described in the Copper Industry that begin the environmental activities by completely considering environment. Evaluating the environmental impacts of business, it is presented the process including EMS so as to dispose of waste, the creation of process, the application difficulties and the benefits of EMS.

ISO 14001 Çevre Yönetim Sistemi ve Bakır Mamulleri Sanayine Uyarlanması

Öz

İnsan ihtiyaçlarının, üretim ve tüketim alışkanlıklarının artmasıyla, doğal kaynaklara verilen zararda artmaktadır. Çevresel sorunların artması toplumu etkilemektedir. Çevre ve toplum bir bütün olduğu için, imalat aşamasında çevreye en az etki bırakacak şekilde üretime özen gösterilmelidir. Çevreye verilen değer gün geçtikçe artmaktadır. Küreselleşen dünyada sadece iyi mal üretmek, mal ve hizmeti ucuza sunmak, müşteriler için yeterli olmamaktadır. Firmalar ÇYS’lerini uygulayarak bu yöndeki eksikliklerini tamamlamaktadır. Çevre yönetimiyle tüm canlıların ve bitkilerin sağlıklı bir şekilde yaşamasının sağlanması, gelecek nesillere temiz, yaşanabilir bir ortam bırakılması, doğal kaynakların korunması ve ekonomik kalkınmanın sağlanması amaçlanmaktadır. Çalışmaya çevre yönetimi ve çevre yönetim sistemleri hakkında bilgi verilerek başlanmıştır. Tamamen çevreye verdiği önem doğrultusunda, çevresel faaliyetlerine başlayan bir bakır mamulleri sanayinde ISO 14001 ÇYS belgelendirme süreci anlatılmaktadır. İşletmenin çevresel etkileri değerlendirilerek, atıkların uygun şekilde bertarafının sağlanması için ÇYS kapsamında süreçler, prosedürler oluşturulması ve uygulamada karşılaşılan zorluklarla ÇYS’nin sağladığı faydalar anlatılmaktadır.
