COĞRAFİ İŞARETLEMENİN KATMA DEĞER OLUŞTURMADA BİR ARAÇ OLARAK KULLANIMI

Öz

Küreselleşmeyle birlikte, tüketicinin daha çok mal ve hizmete, daha kolay ve daha ucuza ulaşmaya başlaması tüketici yanlı bir gelişme olarak değerlendirilebilir. Ancak üretim teknolojilerindeki ve ulaştırmada yaşanan gelişmeler ve değişen tüketim tarzı zamanla; psikolojik, sosyal ve çevresel maliyetlerin ortaya çıkması ile sonuçlanmış ve yerel ürünlere olan yönelim artmaya başlamıştır. Tüketiciler özellikle gıda ürünlerinin nerede ve nasıl üretildiğine ve bu sürecin çevreyi nasıl etkilediğine artık daha fazla önem vermektedir. Coğrafi işaretler yerel ürünlere ayırdedici nitelikler kazandırmakta olup bu sayede yerel ürünlerin katma değeri artmakta, ürünlerin orijinalliği tescillenmekte, üreticiler rekabet üstünlüğüne kavuşmakta ve böylece yerel ekonomiler kalkınmaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, bölgesel kalkınmada önemli role sahip olabilen yerel gıda ürünlerinin, ulusal ve uluslar arası pazarlarda tutunması sürecinde coğrafi işaretlemenin rolünü incelemektir. Bu amaçla Avrupa Birliği’nde coğrafi işaret olarak tescillenmiş peynirler incelenmiş, Türkiye’de coğrafi işarete sahip peynirler ile kıyaslanmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu bağlamda coğrafi işaretlemenin, yerel ürünlerin uluslararası pazarlara çıkmasında etkili bir araç olarak kullanılabileceği düşünülmektedir.
