MANAGING STRATEGIC RISKS AND INTEGRATION OF CONTINUOUS RISK MANAGEMENT IN ORGANIZATIONS

Öz

Nowadays, organizations face rapid changes and variable risks in their sectors. This sector environment also offers new opportunities. Organizations can improve their ability to address risks and take advantage of opportunities by improving their enterprise risk management (ERM) processes and by integrating ERM into strategy determination and performance processes. Improving ERM processes begins with a clear understanding of the role of management in making better decisions and helping achieve strategy and business goals. ERM helps organizations locate the relationship between strategy and risk, as well as achieve their strategy and business goals. These two issues are important not only for success but also for establishing and expanding the risk culture of organizations. For this reason, ERM should be considered as a continuous approach from the starting point against threats. Given the devastating changes in environmental factors and the dynamic nature of the sectors, organizations must stay up to date with new risks and monitor ERM processes constantly. Organizations will increase their chances of achieving strategy and business goals by managing risks that may affect their success. In this context, the purpose of this study is to provide information in developing a continuous ERM approach that will continue to expand the organizations' strategy formation, performance and risk management processes in the pursuit of value creation and protection. Also, various suggestions will be made for the continuous improvement of KRY implementation. The research concludes that taking small concrete steps and creating a culture of continuous improvement are beneficial.

STRATEJİK RİSKLERİN YÖNETİLMESİ VE ÖRGÜTLERDE SÜREKLİ RİSK YÖNETİMİ ENTEGRASYONU

Öz

Günümüzde örgütler sektörlerinde hızlı değişimlerle ve değişken risklerle karşı karşıya kalmaktadır. Bu sektör ortamı aynı zamanda yeni fırsatlar da sunmaktadır. Örgütler, kurumsal risk yönetimi (KRY) süreçlerini geliştirerek ve KRY'yi strateji belirleme ve performans süreçlerine entegre ederek hem riskleri ele alma hem de fırsatlardan yararlanma becerilerini geliştirebilirler. KRY süreçlerini geliştirmek, yönetimin daha iyi kararlar verme ve strateji ile iş hedeflerine ulaşmaya yardımcı olma rolünün net bir şekilde anlaşılmasıyla başlar. KRY, gerek strateji ve risk arasındaki ilişkiyi konumlandırmaya gerekse örgütlerin strateji ve iş hedeflerine ulaşmasına yardımcı olmaktadır. Bu iki husus sadece başarı için değil, aynı zamanda örgütlerin risk kültürünün oluşturulması ve yaygınlaştırılmasında da önemlidir. Bu nedenle KRY tehditlere karşı başlangıç noktasından itibaren sürekli bir yaklaşım olarak ele alınmalıdır. Çevresel faktörlerdeki yıkıcı değişiklikler ve sektörlerin dinamik doğası göz önüne alındığında, örgütler yeni risklere karşı güncel kalmalı ve KRY süreçlerini sürekli izlemelidirler. Örgütler başarılarını etkileyebilecek riskleri yöneterek strateji ve iş hedeflerini gerçekleştirme şansını artıracaktır. Çalışmanın amacı, örgütlerin strateji oluşturma, performans ve risk yönetimi süreçlerini, değer yaratma ve koruma arayışında genişletmeye devam edecek sürekli bir KRY yaklaşımı geliştirmede bilgiler sunmaktır. Ayrıca KRY uygulamasının sürekli iyileştirilmesi adına çeşitli önerilerde bulunulacaktır. Küçük somut adımlar atılmasının ve sürekli iyileştirme kültürünü oluşturmanın faydalı olduğu sonucuna varılmaktadır.
