Abstract
The aim of this study is to reveal the relationship between post graduate students'research competence and scientific research anxiety and their attitudes towards statistics and research. The samples of the study are Ege, DEU and A. Menderes universities Health, Social and Science Institution students. % 54.7 of the subjects are females and % 45.3 (n=201) males, % 42.3 (n=188) % 57.2 (n=256) of the subjects are doctorate students. The anxiety scale towards research, developed by Büyüköztürk (1992), the reliability coefficient of which is.87, attitude scale towards research competence (alpha:87), developed by Köklü (1992-1994), and the scale towards research with.94 alpha coefficient, were administered to alI subjects. In the study oneway variance analysis, t-tes, Scheffe and Tukey HSD tesis were used for data collection. The significance level is .05. The post graduates'research anxiety differs according to universities, institutions, education level. (Master & Doctoral degree), the Research Techniques, Measurement and Evaluation courses are taken or not. The attitude towards research varies according to research experience, whether the graduates took the course of Research Techniques Measurement and Evaluation. The attitude scale towards statistics differs according to universities, institutions, research experience, and whether the subjects took the statistics course or not. When the findings are considered, it is noticed that there is a significant relation between research competence, research attitude, research experience, statistics attitude, age, the achievement of Research Techniques, Statistics and Measurement Evaluation courses. Approximately, half of the research competence variation adduced the relation between attitude towards research, statistics, research techniques achievement and research experience. This finding may figure out some other factors which may influence research competence.
LİSANSÜSTÜ EĞİTİM ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN BİLİMSEL ARAŞTIRMA KAYGILARI ARAŞTIRMA ve İSTATİSTİĞE YÖNELİK TUTUMLARI İLE ARAŞTIRMA YETENEKLERİ ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİ
Öz
Bu araştırmanın amacı, lisansüstü eğitim alan öğrencilerin araştırma yeterliklerinin; bilimsel araştırma kaygıları, araştırma ve istatistiğe yönelik tutumları ile olan ilişkisini belirlemektir. Araştırmanın örneklemini Ege, Dokuz Eylül ve Adnan Menderes Üniversitelerinin Sağlık, Sosyal ve Fen Bilimleri Enstitüsü öğrencileri ile Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Eği¬tim Bilimleri Enstitüsü öğrencileri oluşturmaktadır. Öğrencilerin % 54.7 (N=243)'si bayan, % 45.3 (N=201)'ü erkek¬tir. Katılımcıların % 42.3 (N=188)'ü yüksek lisans, % 57.2 (N=256)'si doktora dönemindedir. Araştırmada Büyüköztürk (1992) tarafından geliştirilen ve güvenirlik katsayısı.87 olan "Araştırmaya Yönelik Kaygı Ölçeği" ile güvenirlik katsayısı .89 bulunan "Araştırma Yeterlikleri Ölçeği"; Köklü (1992; 1994) tarafından geliştirilen.86 güvenirlik katsa¬yısına sahip "Araştırma Yönelik Tutum Ölçeği" ile güvenirlik katsayısı.94 olan istatistik Tutum Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma verilerine tek yönlü varyans analizi, t-testi, Scheffe ve Tukey HSD testleri uygulanmış, Pearson korelasyon katsayıları hesaplanmış, regresyon analizi yapılmıştır. Araştırmada önem düzeyi .05 olarak alınmıştır. Lisansüstü öğrencilerinin araştırma kaygılarının üniversitelere, enstitülere, öğrenim, Araştırma Yöntemleri ve Ölçme Değerlendirme dersi alma durumlarına göre farklılaştığı saptanmıştır. Araştırmaya yönelik tutumun; araştırma deneyimine, Araştırma Yöntemleri ve Ölçme Değerlendirme derslerini alma durumuna göre değişim gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. istatistiğe yönelik tutum ise üniversitelere, enstitülere, araştırma deneyimine ve istatistik dersi alma durumuna göre farklılaşmaktadır. Araştırma yeterlikleri, öğrenim durumu, araştırma deneyimi, araştırma Yöntemleri dersi alma durumu¬na göre farklılık göstermektedir. Araştırma yeterliği ile araştırma tutumu, araştırma deneyimi, istatistik tutumu, yaş, Araştırma Yöntemleri, istatistik ve Ölçme Değerlendirme dersleri başarıları arasında pozitif ve anlamlı ilişkiler bulun¬muştur. Araştırma yeterliğindeki değişkenliğin yaklaşık yarısını, araştırmaya yönelik tutumlar, istatistik ve Araştırma Yöntemleri ders başarıları ile araştırma deneyimi açıklamaktadır. Bu durum araştırma yeterliğini etkileyen başka faktörlerin de olduğunu düşündürmektedir.
