ÜNİVERSİTE ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN TELEVİZYON İZLEME SÜRESİNE GÖRE YALNIZLIK DÜZEYLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Öz

Bu araştırmanın amacı,  üniversite öğrencilerinin televizyon izleme süresine göre  yalnızlık düzeylerini incelemektir. Çalışma, betimsel ve karşılaştırmalı bir araştırmadır.   Örneklem, araştırmaya gönüllü olarak katılan 258 kız ve 267 erkek olmak üzere toplam 525 üniversite öğrencisinden oluşturulmuştur.  Veri toplama aracı olarak kişisel bilgi formu ve UCLA Yalnızlık Ölçeği kullanılmıştır.  Verilerin analizinde tek- yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) ve  Scheffe  testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonunda,  televizyon izleme süresine göre öğrencilerin yalnızlık puanları arasındaki farklılığın anlamlı olduğu saptanmıştır. Üniversite öğrencilerinin televizyon izleme süresi arttıkça yalnızlık puanlarının da arttığı görülmüştür.

AN INVESTIGATION OF THE LONELINESS LEVELS OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS ACCORDING TO THEIR TELEVISION VIEWING TIME

Öz

The aim of this study was to investigate the loneliness levels of university students according to their television viewing time. It is a descriptive and comparative study. The sample consisted of 525 university students in Izmir. The UCLA Loneliness Scale and Personal Information Form were used in the study. The data were assessed through using one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Scheffe test. A significant difference was found between loneliness scores of the students according to their television viewing time.The loneliness levels of more television viewers were significantly higher than the loneliness levels of less viewers
