This article examines a selection of scholarly works that apply various theoretical and methodological approaches to Franz Kafka’s parable “Before the Law”, and systematically compares these perspectives in terms of their analytical frameworks and interpretations. The study aims to reveal how approaches such as structuralism, psychoanalysis, philosophy of law, deconstruction, and reception aesthetics construct meaning within the text and how their methodological assumptions shape the interpretation of Kafka’s narrative. Through comparative evaluation, it becomes evident that the parable can be read both as an individual existential experience and as a reflection of the functional dynamics of law, authority, and exclusion in modern society. While each approach illuminates particular dimensions of the text, their findings often diverge due to differing epistemological premises. The study highlights the necessity of systematically linking interpretative approaches with text-based analysis and methodological diversity in order to enable a more comprehensive understanding of literary works.
