Lojistik ve Dış Ticaretin Ekonomik Büyüme Üzerindeki Etkisi-Türk Devletleri Teşkilatı Ülkelerinden Ampirik Kanıtlar

Öz

Lojistik altyapı ve yük taşımacılığı, malların hareketini kolaylaştırarak pazar erişimini sağlamakta ve rekabet gücünü artırarak ekonomik büyümeyi yönlendiren dış ticareti desteklemede önemli bir rol oynamaktadır. Temel lojistik faaliyetlerden olan yük taşımacılığı ve dış ticaretin ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkisi sıkça araştırılan bir konudur. Son yıllarda yapılan çalışmalarda elde edilen sonuçların net olmaması, kötüleşen dış ticaret dengesinin ekonomik büyümeyi engellemesi nedeniyle farklı bakış açılarına sahip daha çok araştırmaya ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bu çalışma Türk Devletleri Teşkilatında (TDT) lojistik ve dış ticaretin ekonomi üzerindeki etkisini araştırmaktadır. 2006-2023 dönemine ait veriler MM-QR Panel Kantil Regresyon ile analiz edilmektedir. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre; havayolu yük taşımacılığı ile ithalat tutarı ekonomi üzerinde anlamlı ve pozitif, demiryolu yük taşımacılığı ise bütün kantil seviyelerinde negatif ve anlamsız etkiye sahiptir. Ayrıca ihracat bütün kantil seviyelerinde ekonomi üzerinde anlamlı ve negatif etkiye sahiptir. Bu sonuçlar, TDT’de yer alan ülkelerin ithalat odaklı büyüdüğünün kanıtı olmaktadır. Mevcut çalışma lojistik, ulaştırma, ekonomi ve dış ticaret ile ilgili taraflara ve araştırmacılara önemli politika ve çalışma alanları önerileri içermektedir.

The Impact of Logistics and Foreign Trade on Economic Growth - Empirical Evidence from Countries of the Organization of Turkic States

Öz

Logistics infrastructure and freight transportation play an important role in supporting foreign trade that drives economic growth by facilitating the movement of goods, providing market access and increasing competitiveness. The impact of freight transportation, one of the main logistics activities, and foreign trade on economic growth is a frequently researched topic. Since the results of recent studies are not clear and worsening trade balance hinders economic growth, more research with different perspectives is needed. This study investigates the impact of logistics (amount of cargo transported by air and rail) and foreign trade (exports and imports) on the economy in the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). Data for the period 2006-2023 are analyzed through MM-QR quantile regression. According to the results, air freight transportation and imports have a significant and positive effect on the economy, whereas rail freight transportation has a negative and insignificant effect on the economy at all quantile levels. Moreover, exports have a significant and negative effect on the economy at all quantile levels. These results are evidence of import-oriented growth in the OTS countries. The study provides important policy and research implications for logistics, transportation, economics and foreign trade stakeholders and researchers.
