ANADOLU UNIVERSITY OPEN EDUCATION FACULTY OFFICE LOCATION BY ANALYTIC HIERARCY PROCESS
Öz
Anadolu University Open and Distance Education system has been trying to appeal to everybody from every profession, age and income group through distance education since 1982.
The students enrolled the system organize freely their capacity and use different learning environments like e-campus system, iTunesU, face-to-face teaching services, television broadcasts and some advanced technologies like videoconference, without interrupting their daily productivity. Open Education Faculty Offices, 106 at home and 6 in abroad play an important role in the sustainability of the system by providing logistical support to the students on many issues. These faculty offices are the most important connecting points for the students living in different provinces for communication with the university. Besides getting the text books from the offices, students take many information and document like student ID cards, military suspension papers, grade notification documents, renewing the student ID cards and de-registration. Since the number of active students approaches to 1.5 million, the offices specially in the big cities have great importance for the functioning the system. It is inevitable to open new offices or location changing of the existing ones since the system expanding day by day.
In this study, Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used which is one of the Multi-Criteria Decision Making in order to determine the most appropriate place for the potential offices. For issues like determining the most appropriate place, besides intuitive approach, cost plays an importing role.
