Flora of Eber Stream Basin (Afyonkarahisar)

Öz

The research explores the vascular plant flora of the Eber Stream Basin and adjacent areas on the northern slopes of the Sultan Mountains. In total, 588 vascular plant taxa from 82 families and 331 genera were recorded during the study. Of these, 22 taxa are newly recorded for the flora of Afyonkarahisar. The study also revealed that 68 taxa are endemic, corresponding to an endemism rate of 11.67%. The phytogeographical distribution of the identified taxa is as follows: Mediterranean element 76 taxa (12.85%), Euro-Siberian element 73 taxa (12.35%), Irano-Turanian element 71 taxa (12.01%), and taxa with unknown phytogeographical status 371 taxa (62.77%). Additionally, Onobrychis cornuta (L.) Desv. communities were recorded for the first time within the scope of this study at elevations between 1900 and 2100 meters on Toprak Tepe, located in the research area. With this finding, the presence of the species within the provincial boundaries of Afyonkarahisar has been documented in the scientific literature for the first time.
