REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURIAL UNIVERSITIES

Öz

Serious organizational transformations have been observed at the high education system of most countries recently. Most universities, perceived as a regional development dynamic, have gradually strived to put entrepreneurial principles into practice. The main purpose of this study is to investigate relationships between entrepreneurial universities and regional development. Firstly, the role of universities on the regional development is mentioned. Secondly, the phenomenon of entrepreneurial universities with their main characteristics is studied. Besides, given examples of American and European universities, their contributions to regional development are explored
