Appraisal of Structural Behavior of Afyon Sandıklı Ulu Mosque

Öz

Historical buildings are important to cultural heritage as they carry their many features to the next generation. Historical buildings are evidence displaying the history, reflecting people's behaviors and culture in the past. the mosques also one of the important our historical buildings. As The mosques are the most important pieces of Islamic culture in terms of their and structural and architectural properties. This paper mainly focuses on the structural behaviors’ historical masonry buildings in Turkey. The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the structural behaviors of the domed mosque and to determine the static and dynamic effects. For this purpose, Afyon Sandıklı Ulu Mosque has been numerically modeled and it has been analyzed. At the end of the analyses, the behavior of the structure under the earthquake effects is obtained. The most affected areas of the structure are determined, and the structural behavior is investigated depending on the displacement and stresses over the structure. Finally, assessments have been made about the obtained results.
