Abstract

Prof. Dr. M. A. Yekta Saraç graduated from the Department of Turkish Language and Literature at Istanbul University in 1985 and was appointed as a research assistant to the Department of Old Turkish Literature in the same year. In 1991, he earned the title of doctor, in 1994 the title of associate professor and in 2000 the title of professor. In 2005, Saraç was elected as the president of the Council of Higher Education and served in this position for various terms, and was appointed as the President of the Council of Higher Education in 2014. In 2021, his term of office at YÖK ended and he became the Chief Advisor to the President. He also served in important organizations such as Yunus Emre Institute Board of Trustees, TÜBA membership and Turkish-Japanese Science and Technology University Council. Saraç is an academic specializing in classical Turkish literature, text commentary and rhetoric. During his academic career, he has authored many important works on ancient Turkish literature. Among his best-known works are Knowledge of Classical Literature, Selections from Divan Poetry and The Poetry of the Ottomans. These works stand out especially for their detailed coverage of the Ottoman poetic tradition and the basic concepts of classical literature. In addition, the works introduced in this study, Knowledge of Classical Literature: Rhetoric and Form, Meter and Rhyme, which is introduced in this study, is one of the most important works of the author. This work written by Saraç is of great importance for anyone working in the field of Classical Turkish literature. This book, published by the Turkish Language Association in 2019, provides a comprehensive, explanatory and detailed content on topics such as rhetoric, form, meter and rhyme. The work is an important reference source for researchers and students who want to examine the basic elements of classical Turkish literature in depth.

M. A. Yekta SARAÇ (2019), Klasik Edebiyat Bilgisi Belâgat ve Biçim-Ölçü-Kafiye

Öz

Prof. Dr. M. A. Yekta Saraç, 1985 yılında İstanbul Üniversitesi Türk Dili ve Edebiyatı Bölümünden mezun olduktan sonra, aynı yıl Eski Türk Edebiyatı Ana Bilim Dalına araştırma görevlisi olarak atanmıştır. 1991 yılında doktor unvanını, 1994’te doçentlik unvanını ve 2000 yılında profesörlüğü kazanmıştır. 2005 yılında YÖK başkanlığına seçilen Saraç, bu görevde çeşitli dönemlerde bulunmuş, 2014 yılında YÖK Başkanlığına atanmıştır. 2021 yılında YÖK'teki görev süresi sona ermiş ve ardından Cumhurbaşkanı Başdanışmanı olmuştur. Ayrıca Yunus Emre Enstitüsü Mütevelli Heyeti, TÜBA üyeliği ve Türk-Japon Bilim ve Teknoloji Üniversitesi Konseyi gibi önemli kuruluşlarda görev almıştır. Saraç, klasik Türk edebiyatı, metin şerhi ve belagat-retorik konularında uzmanlaşmış bir akademisyendir. Akademik kariyeri boyunca, eski Türk edebiyatına dair birçok önemli esere imza atmıştır. En bilinen çalışmaları arasında Klasik Edebiyat Bilgisi, Divan Şiirinden Seçmeler ve Osmanlı'nın Şiiri yer almaktadır. Bu eserler, özellikle Osmanlı şiir geleneği ve klasik edebiyatın temel kavramlarını detaylı bir şekilde ele almasıyla öne çıkmaktadır. Ayrıca, bu çalışmada tanıtılan Klasik Edebiyat Bilgisi: Belagat ve Biçim-Ölçü-Kafiye adlı eserin de yazarın en önemli eserlerinden biri olduğu belirtilmektedir. Saraç’ın kaleme aldığı bu eser, Klasik Türk edebiyatı alanında çalışmalar yapan herkes için büyük bir öneme sahiptir. Türk Dil Kurumu tarafından 2019 yılında yayımlanan bu kitap, belagat, biçim, ölçü ve kafiye gibi konulara dair kapsamlı, açıklayıcı ve detaylı bir içerik sunmaktadır. Eser, klasik Türk edebiyatının temel unsurlarını derinlemesine incelemek isteyen araştırmacılar ve öğrenciler için önemli bir referans kaynağı olma niteliği taşımaktadır
