Öz

The use of complementary and alternative therapies is increasing every day and have become quite popular among health care professionals. Complementary and alternative therapies in the field of reflexology is a printing technique applied to reflex points, in ears, hands and feet which correspond to the whole body, its’ organ and systems. Reflexology has been widely used in the development of health care and in alleviating of some ailments. Complementary therapies, occur in the independent nursing roles of professional nurses. It is therefore important that nurses' have knowledge of these methods. This article provides information concerning reflexology’s benefits and uses

HEMŞİRELİKTE TAMAMLAYICI VE ALTERNATİF TEDAVİ: REFLEKSOLOJİ

Öz

Tamamlayıcı ve alternatif tedavilerin kullanımı her geçen gün artmaktadır ve sağlık profesyonelleri arasında da oldukça popüler hale gelmiştir. Tamamlayıcı ve alternatif tedaviler arasında yer alan refleksoloji, kulak, el ve ayaklarda bedenin tüm bölgelerine, organlarına ve sistemlerine karşılık gelen refleks noktalarına, el ve parmaklarla uygulanan bir baskı tekniğidir. Refleksoloji, hem sağlığın korunması ve geliştirilmesinde hem de bazı rahatsızlıkların hafifletilmesinde yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Tamamlayıcı tedaviler, profesyonel hemşirelerin bağımsız hemşirelik rolleri kapsamında yer almaktadır. Bu nedenle hemşirelerin bu yöntemlere ilişkin bilgi sahibi olması önemlidir. Bu makalede tamamlayıcı ve alternatif tedavilerden biri olan refleksolojinin yararları ve kullanım alanları hakkında bilgi verilmiştir
