Level Determination Examination (LDE): Is it a Possible Predictor of Student Burnout?

Öz

The purpose of this study is to analyse the prediction level of Level Determination Examination on elementary students’ burnout perceptions. The study was carried out in the city centre of Nigde from 11 elementary schools in 2010-2011 academic years. Totally 394 elementary school students selected randomly participated in the study. The “general survey method” was adopted in the research. In accordance with the purpose of the study, multiple regression analysis was employed in the study in order to examine the data obtained. “Maslach Burnout Inventory-Student Form” and “Demographics Information Form” were used in order to collect data for the study. For the statistical analyses SPSS 17.0 was used. According to findings of the study, it was found out that Level Determination Examination variable was a significant predictor of student burnout in all dimensions. On the other hand, it was also found out that extra courses that students take out of school variable was a significant predictor of student burnout in all dimensions
