Financial investment instruments are affected positively or negatively by economic and speculative movements. The GSADF test developed by Phillips et al. (2015) was analyzed using the Rtadf plugin in Eviews12 software to see how and how much the dollar, gold and BIST-All series, which are the basic financial investment instruments, are affected by economic and speculative movements. The data of the original weekly opening prices for the dollar, gold and BIST-All series, including the period 29/07/2018-24/07/2022, were obtained from the CBRT-EVDS address. As a result of the GSADF test, 5 balloon formations were found for Dollar, 3 for gold and 6 for BIST-All. It can be said that BIST-Whole series is more open to speculative bubble formations. The gold series, which is exposed to fewer and smaller bubbles, seems to be safer than the dollar and BIST-All series. As a result, it is seen that the bubble is of economic and speculative origin in dollar, gold and BIST-All series. It can be interpreted that small bubble formations may be due to speculative actions, while large bubble formations may be related to the occurrence dates of global economic and social events. Considering the studies showing that balloon formations are dependent on herd psychology, it can be said that global economic and social events also have an effect on balloon formations. The result of the study is also in line with the results of the literature.
