Specially talented students are individuals who show a high level of performance in intelligence, creativity, leadership, arts, motivation and academic fields compared to their peers. Self-regulation is the individual's making judgments by observing his own behaviors, comparing them with his own criteria and, if necessary, adjusting his behaviors according to his criteria. Internal processes play an important role behind many of our organized behavior. During the pandemic process, many people had difficulty controlling their own performance and motivation due to the extreme anxiety they were experiencing, which strained their cognitive process. The aim of the study is to examine the ability of high school students with special talents, who are successful in academic field, creativity and high motivation for learning, to take responsibility for their own learning and to control this process during the distance education process, which we passed in the education and training process for the first time due to the pandemic. In the study, "How did high school students with special talents organize their own learning by taking responsibility for their own learning?" The solution was sought for the problem statement. In the study, a semi-structured interview form was applied to 35 specially talented BİLSEM students studying in different types of high schools in Kayseri. Qualitative method was used in the research. The interview data obtained from the participants were analyzed through descriptive analysis. In line with the data obtained, most of the gifted students took the responsibility of learning by controlling their anxiety level and providing motivation during the distance education process. In this process, they solved the problem of how to learn themselves, they were successful in using time effectively, they organized their own learning. The research is important for revealing the self-regulation capacities of specially talented students who have stood out in academic achievements so far, by providing control in such a difficult situation.
