(Yapay) Zekâ, Metafor ve Manipülasyon: Ex Machina’da (2014) Dil Felsefesi

Öz

Modern çağda dil sadece bir iletişim aracı değil, aynı zamanda algıyı, kimliği ve güç yapılarını şekillendiren yaratıcı bir güç olarak görülmektedir. Dil, bilgi üretiminin merkezinde yer alır ve insan zihninin yapısını yansıtır. Alex Garland'ın Ex Machina (2014) filmi bu dil paradigmasını bir yapay zekâ anlatısı aracılığıyla incelemektedir ve bilincin doğasına dair derinlemesine bir sorgulama sunar. Yapay zekâ anlatıları insan bilişinin sınırlarını ve dilin belirleyici rolünü daha görünür hale getirirken Ex Machina dilin anlamsal, sözdizimsel ve pragmatik boyutlarını sorgulayan bir örnek olarak öne çıkmaktadır. Film, dilin insanlar ve yapay zekâ arasındaki sınırları nasıl aştığını göstererek Turing testini tersine çevirmektedir. Yapay zekâ Ava, dili sadece iletişim için değil aynı zamanda manipülasyon, ikna ve güç düzenlemesi için de kullanır. Söylem, dilin bilgi iletmek için bir araçtan daha fazlası olduğunu ortaya koyar; sosyal bağlamları da aktif olarak şekillendirir. Bu çalışma, filmin diyaloglarını, metaforlar ve dilin stratejik kullanımı bakımından yakından inceleyen felsefi bir analiz yaklaşımı sunmaktadır. Çalışma, Ex Machina’nın (yapay) zekânın yalnızca dilsel yeterlilik değil, aynı zamanda insan etkileşimlerini manipüle etme ve yeniden şekillendirme yeteneği temelinde de değerlendirildiğini ortaya koyarak teknoloji ve insanlık arasındaki ilişkide dilin rolünü yeniden tanımlamaktadır.

Öz

In the modern era, language is not just a means of communication but a creative force shaping perception, identity, and power structures. It is central to knowledge production and reflects the structure of the human mind. Alex Garland’s Ex Machina (2014) explores this linguistic paradigm through an AI narrative, offering a profound inquiry into the nature of consciousness. AI narratives make the boundaries of human cognition and the decisive role of language more visible, and Ex Machina stands out as a key example questioning its semantic, syntactic, and pragmatic dimensions. The film reverses the Turing test, illustrating how language negotiates boundaries between humans and AI. Ava, the artificial intelligence, uses language not only for communication but also for manipulation, persuasion, and power regulation. Her discourse reveals that language is more than a tool for transmitting information—it actively shapes social contexts. This study adopts a philosophical analysis approach, closely examining the film’s dialogues, metaphors, and the strategic use of language. Ex Machina ultimately demonstrates that (artificial) intelligence is evaluated not just based on linguistic competence but also on its ability to manipulate and reshape human interactions, redefining the role of language in the relationship between technology and humanity.
