The fact that the current age is an information age has brought more importance to the issue of education. While education in past years has been seen as the only way to become a profession and business, education today has derived new concepts related to education, such as lifelong learning, which has played an important role in every aspect of life. Public administration, which is an important discipline in social sciences, has necessitated the reinterpretation of public administration with current approaches such as personnel employment, retirement services and education in many fields as a result of recent developments. For this reason, the importance given to the departments such as strategic planning and human resources in public administration and the personnel training in these units have increased. In this study, Ahi Evran, which is the foundation of many fields such as social and cultural, examines the approach of education in the organization of religious affairs in the XIII century. In this direction, the aim of the study is to examine the importance and application of education in order to better understand the innovations, changes, developments or deficiencies of today. The method of the study is literature review. Eğitim bir toplumun güçlü olmasını, nitelikli, aydın insanların oluşmasını sağlayan en önemli araçtır. Eğitim ulusal kalkınmayı, ilerlemeyi, bağımsızlığı ve özgürlüğü, refahı sağlamanın en etkili yollarından biridir. Şu an içinde bulunduğumuz çağın bilgi çağı olması da eğitim konusunu daha güncel olmasını, daha önem verilmesini sağlamıştır. Geçmiş yıllarda eğitim yalnızca bir meslek ve iş sahibi olmanın yolu olarak görülürken bugün eğitim hayatın her alanında oldukça önemli bir yer tutmuş yaşam boyu öğrenme gibi eğitimle ilgili yeni kavramlar türemiştir. Sosyal bilimler alanının önemli bir disiplini olan kamu yönetimi son dönemlerde yaşanan gelişmelere bağlı olarak personel alımından emekliliğe kadar hizmet öncesi hizmet içi gibi birçok eğitimlerin yapılmasını, yeni yaklaşımlarla kamu yönetimi alanının yeniden yorumlanması ihtiyacını doğurmuştur. Bu sebeple kamu yönetiminde stratejik planlamalar, insan kaynakları gibi birimlere bu doğrultuda personel eğitimine verilen önem artmıştır. Yapılan çalışmada Türk sosyal, kültürel ve daha birçok alan için temel oluşturan, Ahi Evran'ın XIII. yüzyılda kurduğu ahilik teşkilatında eğitim konusunun ele alınışı incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı günümüzdeki yenilikleri, değişiklikleri, gelişimleri veya eksiklikleri daha iyi görebilmek adına asırlar öncesine ait olan ahilik teşkilatında eğitimin önemi, nasıl yapıldığını ele almaktır. Çalışmada literatür taraması yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Yapılan incelemeler göstermiştir ki ahilik teşkilatında iş eğitimi hem teorik hem pratik olmak üzere verilmiş, öğrenme ve beceri geliştirme odak noktası olmuş, bunu yaparken sadece kişisel değil toplumsal alan da ihmal edilmemiş ve ahlak, sevgi, dayanışma, birlik, kültür gibi olgulara büyük önem verilmiş. Bugün kamu yönetimi alanında verilen eğitimlerde de geçmişteki bu uygulamaların etkisi görülebilir. Geçmişi anlamak, ele almak, incelemek bugüne ışık tutacaktır.
