One of the vital and constantly changing fields regarding current issues in Islamic law is medicine and health-related issues. In this context, it is noteworthy that a study on medical interventions to the human genome and the use of CRISPR-Cas9 technology in this direction has not been studied until recently. Ülfet Görgülü’s work titled Intervention in the Human Genome: Ethical Discussions-Jurisprudential (Fiqhi) Approaches, appears to be a significant contribution to the field by being the first Turkish study on the subject.
