GOVERNANCE IN THE EUROPEAN UNION

Öz

Abstract European governance constitutes one of the key concepts in the integration process of the EU. European governance has been considered a remedy for the democratic legitimacy crisis as well as an efficient way of functioning for the enlargement of the Union. This article focuses firstly place on the definition of the European governance and then tries to understand its implications for the European administrative system. Key Words: European Union, governance, networks, open coordination method.

Öz

Avrupa Birliği'nin bütünleşme sürecinde yönetişim anahtar kavramlardan birini oluşturmaktadır. Avrupa yönetişimine hem Birliğin içinde olduğu meşruiyet krizini aşmak, hem de genişleyen Birliğe etkin bir işleyiş kazandırmak açılarından önemli işlevler yüklendiği izlenmektedir. Bu yazı çerçevesinde bir yandan Avrupa yönetişimi tanımlanmaya çalışılırken, bir yandan farklı yaklaşımların altı çizilerek kavram üzerindeki tartışmalar ve sorunlu alanlar ele alınmaktadır.
