Sağlık İnanç Modeli’ne Temellendirilen Afete Hazırlık Eğitim Programı’nın Toplumdaki Yaşlı Bireylerin Afete Hazırbulunuşluklarına Etkisi: Küme Randomize Kontrollü Deneyin Çalışma Protokolü

Öz

Bu çalışma, toplumdaki yaşlı bireylerin Sağlık İnanç Modeli’ne temellendirilen Afete Hazırlık Eğitim Programı’nın, yalnızca Afet ve Acil Durum Yönetimi Başkanlığı tarafından hazırlanan eğitim materyallerinin verileceği aktif kontrol grubuna göre afete hazır bulunuşluklarına etkisini incelemek amacıyla tek kör (katılımcı), küme randomize kontrollü çalışma şeklinde tasarlanan bir çalışma için planlanan protokolü sunmaktadır. Araştırma Antalya ili Muratpaşa ve Konyaaltı ilçelerinde yaşlı bireylerin yoğun bulunduğu yaşlı evleri, emekli kahveleri ve semt parkında Mart-Mayıs 2024 tarihleri arasında toplam altı kümede yürütülmüştür. Örneklem büyüklüğü 66 yaşlı birey olarak (girişim: 33, kontrol: 33) hesaplanmıştır. Girişim grubuna üç ay boyunca interaktif grup eğitimi, Afet ve Acil Durum Yönetimi Başkanlığı tarafından hazırlanan kamusal eğitim materyallerinin verilmesi ve hatırlatıcı telefon mesajlarını içeren Sağlık İnanç Modeli’ne temellendirilen Afete Hazırlık Eğitim Programı uygulanmıştır. Aktif kontrol grubuna aynı süreçte Afet ve Acil Durum Yönetimi Başkanlığı tarafından hazırlanan kamusal eğitim materyalleri verilmiştir. Sonuçlar girişimden önce, eğitim programından sonra ve üç ay sonra Afet Hazır Bulunuşluk Ölçeği, Genel Afete Hazırlık İnanç Ölçeği ve Bireysel Afet Hazırlıkları Değerlendirme Formu’yla ölçülmüştür. Sonuçlar, yaşlı bireylerin afete hazır bulunuşluklarının artmasına, afete hazırlık inançlarının ve bireysel afet hazırlıklarının iyi olmasına katkıda bulunmaya yardımcı olacak ve araştırmacılara rehberlik edecektir.

Araştırmaya başlamadan önce Akdeniz Üniversitesi Tıbbi Bilimsel Araştırmalar Etik Kurulu’ndan onay ve Antalya İl Sağlık Müdürlüğü, Muratpaşa Belediyesi ve Konyaaltı Belediyesi’nden resmi izinler alınmıştır. Çalışma protokolü ClinicalTrials.gov’a (ID: NCT05859737) kaydedilmiş olup Helsinki Bildirgesi ilkelerine uygun olarak yürütülmüştür. Araştırmayı uygulamadan önce tüm katılımcılara çalışma hakkında bilgi verilmiş ve aydınlatılmış onam formu imzalatılmıştır. Katılımcıların istedikleri zaman çalışmadan ayrılma hakkı korunmuş olup çalışmanın katılımcılar için herhangi bir riski yoktur.

The Effect of Disaster Preparedness Training Program Based on Health Belief Model on Disaster Preparedness of Elderly Individuals in the Community: A Study Protocol for a Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial

Öz

This study presents the protocol planned for a cluster randomized controlled trial designed to examine the effect of the Disaster Preparedness Training Program, based on the Health Belief Model, on the disaster preparedness of elderly individuals in the community. The study compares this intervention with a control group receiving only public education materials prepared by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority. The study is designed as a single-blind (participant), cluster-randomized controlled trial. The study was conducted between March and May 2024 in six clusters located in houses for older adults, retirement cafés, and neighborhood parks in Muratpasa and Konyaalti districts of Antalya, where older adults are concentrated. The sample size is determined as 66 elderly individuals (intervention: 33, control: 33). The intervention group received the Disaster Preparedness Training Program Based on the Health Belief Model, which included interactive group training, distribution of public education materials prepared by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, and reminder phone messages for three months. The active control group received only the public education materials provided by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority. Outcomes were measured before the intervention, after the training program, and three months later using the Disaster Preparedness Scale, General Disaster Preparedness Belief Scale, and Individual Disaster Preparedness Assessment Form. The results will help improve disaster preparedness, disaster preparedness beliefs, and individual disaster preparedness behaviors among the elderly while providing guidance for researchers.

Prior to the commencement of the study, approval was obtained from the Akdeniz University Clinical Research Ethics Committee, and official permissions were granted by the Antalya Provincial Health Directorate, Muratpasa Municipality, and Konyaalti Municipality. The study protocol was registered on ClinicalTrials.gov (ID: NCT05859737) and conducted in accordance with the principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. Before participation, all individuals were informed about the study and provided written informed consent. Participants retained the right to withdraw at any time, and the study involved no risk to the participants.
