Öz

Dişsel Sınıf II malokluzyonlar alt molar dişin üst molar dişe göre daha distalde kapanış yaptığı malokluzyonlardır. Bu malokluzyonun çekimsiz tedavisi sıklıkla üst molarların distalizasyonunu gerektirir. Bunu gerçekleştirmek amacıyla çeşitli tedavi yöntemleri önerilmiştir. Hasta için en uygun yöntemin seçilebilmesi için, her bir molar distalizasyon uyguladığının, iskeletsel ve dentoalveoler yapılarda ne gibi değişikliklere neden olduğunun çok iyi bilinmesi gerekir. Sınıf II molar ilişkiyi düzeltmek veya üst çenede yer kazanmak için üst molar dişlerin distalizasyonunda ağız dışı veya ağız içi apareylerle başarılı sonuçlar elde edilmektedir. Bununla birlikte ağız dışı apareylerin kullanımı sırasında karşılaşılan uyum problemi hem hasta hem de hekim için önemli bir problemdir. Günümüzde hasta uyumunu en aza indirmeyi amaçlayan çeşitli intraoral apareyler tanıtılmaya başlanmıştır. Bu derlemenin amacı maksiller birinci molar dişlerin distalizasyonunda kullanılan ağız dışı ve ağız içi apareylerin tedavi etkilerini değerlendirmek ve karşılaştırmaktır

Correction of Class II Malocclusion with Different Molar Distalization Methods

Öz

Non-extraction treatment of Class II malocclusion frequently requires upper molar distalization into a final Class I relationship. To achieve this, a variety of treatment modalities have been suggested. In order to achieve the appropriate system for the patient, it is essential to know the skeletal and dentoalveolar effects and the force system of each molar distalization mechanic. Succesful molar distalization results are obtained with extraoral or intraoral appliances for the correction of Class II molar relationship or for the creation of space in the upper arch. However, with the extraoral appliances, patient compliance arises as a major problem for both the patient and the orthodontist. Recently, several different intraoral procedures have been introduced to minimize the need for patient co-operation. The purpose of this review was to evaluate and compare the treatment effects of an extraoral appliance and an intraoral appliance for distal movement of maxillary first molars
