Reality is an Anonymous Process: An Inquiry on the Constitution of Dynamism in Whitehead’s Ontology

Abstract

The reality is an anonymous process. This text tries to bring the concept of anonymous into the question of the ontological discussions and uses this concept not only to indicate the unnamed but also to create an image of reality that is constituted of acts. This text studies the roles of real potentiality, event and of the contrast, which are three elements of the dynamic structure of the process in Whitehead’s philosophy, with regards to constitution of the cosmological scheme. It argues that some paradigms based on the transcendence and the absolute will break down on the stage of process and in this situation beings’ power of creating the new will increase. Unlike philosophical systems which claim to represent the reality, this text traces the expression of the selforganizing entities on the stage of process

Öz

Gerçeklik anonim bir süreçtir. Bu metin, anonim kavramını ontolojik tartışmaların gündemine taşımaya çalışıyor ve bu kavramı yalnızca isimsiz olanı göstermek için değil, fiillerden oluşan bir gerçeklik imgesini oluşturmak için de kullanıyor. Whitehead felsefesinde sürecin dinamik yapısının üç öğesi olan gerçek potansiyelite, olay ve kontrast kavramlarının kozmolojik bir şemanın oluşturulmasındaki rollerini inceliyor. Aşkınlık ve mutlak üzerine kurulu paradigmaların sürecin sahnesinde iflas edeceğini ve bu durumda varlıkların yeniyi oluşturma güçlerinin artacağını ileri sürüyor. Gerçekliği temsil etme iddiasındaki felsefi sistemlerin aksine kendisini örgütleyen varlıkların sürecin sahnesindeki ifadelerinin izini sürüyor
