In this study, a bibliometric analysis of the scientific output on the concept of the glass ceiling over the last 25 years was conducted. Accordingly, a total of 1,783 studies published between 2000 and 2024 in the Web of Science database with the keyword “glass ceiling” were included in the analysis. Bibliometric analysis is a method that enables evaluations based on indicators such as the most productive authors, countries, collaboration networks, citation performance, and the most frequently cited works. During the analysis process, content mapping was carried out using the VOSviewer software. The findings reveal that research on the glass ceiling syndrome has shown a significant increase, particularly since the 2000s. It was determined that the subject has an interdisciplinary character and that the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia have made the most substantial contributions. The most intensive studies were conducted in the fields of management, women’s studies, and economics, while the most frequently repeated concepts were identified as “glass ceiling, gender, women, leadership, and discrimination.” Furthermore, the collaboration networks indicate that strong academic partnerships exist among countries and authors, demonstrating the expansion of international research communities. These results highlight not only the growing importance of the glass ceiling phenomenon at both the academic and practical levels but also show that the research area has evolved into an increasingly global and multidimensional field.
