Göç Olgusu ile İlgili Kavramlara İlişkin Eksik – Yanlış Bilgilerin Nedenleri Üzerine Nitel Bir Araştırma: Mardin İli Örneği

Öz

Arka plan: Gerek ulusal gerekse uluslararası literatürde göç olgusu üzerine kabul görmüş genel kavramlar bulunmaktadır. Politikaların doğru bir şekilde anlaşılması ve uygulanabilmesi, vatandaşların ve göçmenlerin birbirlerine karşı tutumlarının gerçekçi bir zeminde şekillenebilmesi açısından bu kavramların anlamlarının tam olarak bilinmesi önemli bir husustur. Türkiye’de vatandaşların göç olgusuna ilişkin bu kavramları ile ilgili bilgi eksikliklerinin hatta yanlış bilgilerin olduğu görülmektedir.
Amaç: Bu çalışma, Türkiye'de göç kavramlarına ilişkin bilgi eksikliklerinin nedenlerini ve bu eksikliklerin giderilmesine yönelik önerileri incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır.
Yöntem: Çalışmada nitel araştırma deseni kullanılmış, veri toplama yöntemi olarak ise görüşme yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Bu çerçevede daha önceden hazırlanmış görüşme soruları ekseninde yapılandırılmış mülakatlar gerçekleştirilmiştir. Mardin ilinde yaşayan 10 Türkiye Cumhuriyeti vatandaşı ile yapılan mülakatlarda göç ve insan hareketliliklerine ilişkin genel kavramların eksikliklerinin ve bu eksikliklerin nedenlerinin anlaşılmasına yönelik sorular sorulmuştur.
Bulgular: Araştırma bulguları, eğitim sisteminin göç konularına yeterince yer vermemesi, medyanın yanlış veya eksik bilgilendirme yapması ve toplumun genel ilgisizliğinin bu bilgi eksikliklerinin başlıca nedenleri olduğunu göstermektedir.
Sonuç: Eğitim müfredatının zenginleştirilmesi ve toplumsal farkındalık kampanyalarının düzenlenmesi gibi öneriler, bilgi eksikliklerinin giderilmesi için öne sürülmektedir. Bu çalışma, göç kavramlarına ilişkin bilgi eksikliklerini ve bu eksikliklerin nedenlerini daha derinlemesine inceleyerek, Türkiye'de göç olgusuna ilişkin toplumsal bilinç düzeyinin artırılmasına katkı sağlaması da beklenmektedir.

A Qualitative Research on The Reasons of Incomplete - Incorrect Information Regarding Concepts Related to The Phenomenon of Migration: The Case of Mardin Province

Öz

Background: It is important to know the meanings of concepts regarding the phenomenon of migration in order to understand and implement policies correctly and to shape the attitudes of citizens and migrants towards each other on a realistic basis.
Purpose: This study aims to examine the reasons for the lack of knowledge on migration concepts in Turkey and suggestions for overcoming these deficiencies.
Method: Qualitative research design was used in the study, and the interview method was used as the data collection method. The findings were reported and analyzed. In the interviews conducted with 10 citizens of the Republic of Turkey living in Mardin.
Results: The findings reveal that there is a general lack of knowledge about the concepts of migration in the society..
Conclusion: Suggestions such as enriching the education curriculum and organising social awareness campaigns are put forward to overcome the lack of information. This study is also expected to contribute to increasing the level of social awareness regarding the phenomenon of migration in Turkey by examining in more depth the deficiencies in knowledge regarding migration concepts and the reasons for these deficiencies.
